In recognition of
Outstanding Geochemists
The Division of Geochemistry of the American Chemical Society solicits nominations for the Geochemistry Division Medal every other year, to be conferred at an ACS National Meeting & Exposition the following year.
The award consists of a bronze medallion and $2000. The awardee will receive an allowance for travel to the award ceremony, as well as registration costs for the ACS meeting at which the award will be conferred.
Nominations
Nominations are currently closed. The last nomination call was Summer 2022, which included nomination criteria of:
a nomination letter (~2 to 5 pages in length) describing the nominee's outstanding accomplishments in geochemistry research,
the nominee’s current CV with an up-to-date publication list,
two supporting letters from individuals other than the nominator, and
any other supporting information at the discretion of the nominator.
Nominators should confirm, prior to submission of the nomination, that the nominee is willing to be considered for the award.

Student Travel Award
Only one application per presenting author will be considered
Criteria
The applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student.
The applicant must have already submitted a regular abstract to MAPS for the meeting.
The applicant must be the presenting author.
Early Career Scientist Travel Award
Only one application per presenting author will be considered
Criteria
The applicant must have received their PhD degree within 5 years of the abstract submission deadline.
The applicant must have already submitted a regular abstract to MAPS for the meeting.
The applicant must be the presenting author
Evaluation
Abstracts will be judged based on the impact on the field of geochemistry, technical approach, quality and clarity of writing, relevance of the abstract to the symposia and national meeting themes, and balance among different symposia.

Winners
The Division of Geochemistry of the American Chemical Society accepts nominations for the Division of Geochemistry Outstanding Service Award at any time in recognition of outstanding service to the Division and its members.
Nominations
Nominations for the Division of Geochemistry Outstanding Service Award are to be sent to the Chair of the Division and may be accepted at any time.
Winners
Selection of recipients for the Division of Geochemistry Outstanding Service Award shall be by vote of the Executive Committee.
Student presentation awards
At each meeting of the Division, the Immediate Past Chair of the Division, in consultation with the Executive Committee, shall select one awardee in recognition of the best presentation by a student at that meeting, provided that a sufficiently meritorious presentation is given at the meeting.
Recent Winners
Selection of recipients for the Division of Geochemistry Outstanding Service Award shall be by vote of the Executive Committee.
